The Student Employment office works with university departments and the community to create work-study employment opportunities for students. Meeting the work-study employment needs of students is our job, and we work diligently to ensure our joint venture has lasting benefits. We look forward to working with you. - How do I find a job?
Open job postings are updated daily. Review as many job descriptions as you may be interested in. You may apply for more than one position, but you may only accept and work one job at a time.
- How do I apply for a job?
Once you have decided that you are qualified and are interested in applying for a position, complete the online application below the description. Fill out the entire online application and click Finish. You may attach a resume if you wish.
- The Interview Process
For each application you submit, the positionâ€™s supervisor will review it and, if interested, will contact you to set up an interview. Interviews can be conducted on the phone or in person. If you are scheduled for an in-person interview, please make sure that you are dressed appropriately, no shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops. Bring any pertinent information with you that you think will be relevant to your interview such as your resume or references if you have them.
- The Hiring Process
Remember, you can only accept and work ONE job at the time. Once you have been offered a work-study position, your supervisor will submit a Permission to Hire a Student Employee form. The Student Employment Office will contact you and your supervisor in order to collect your employment documents.
- What you need to start your job:
The following employment documents must be received by the Student Employment Office in order for you to start work.
Each year all student workers are required to sign aÂ confidentiality agreementÂ that they will keep certain ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥ information private and confidential before they can begin working.Â You may print, complete and mail in. Our mailing address is Student Employment Office, ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥, P. O. Box 118087, ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥, SC 29423.
°ä´Ç³¾±è±ô±ð³Ù±ðÌýÂ so that ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥ can withhold the correct federal income tax from your pay. You may print, complete and mail in. Our mailing address is Student Employment Office, ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥, P. O. Box 118087, ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥, SC 29423.
If you have worked for ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥ within the last six months you are not required to complete a new I-9. TheÂ Â must be completed in order to document that each new employee is authorized to work in the United States. This form cannot be mailed or faxed.
You must read carefully the I-9 instructions.
Students must complete section 1 online. Review the required list of acceptable documents.Â You must bring with you one document from list A, OR 2 documents one from list B and one from list C.Â You will be required to bring the original documents you choose from the list of acceptable documents to the Student Employment Office so that we can complete Section 2 of your I-9. You will NOT be authorized to work at ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥ until we have reviewed your documents and completed Section 2.
Student Employment Contract
This contract will be ready for your signature and your supervisorâ€™s signature once you have submitted all your required documents. Remember:Â You may not start work until the Student Employment Office receives your signed contract.Â This is the last step before you can begin work.
You must be awarded Federal Work-Study in order to apply for a work-study job at ÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥. To find out if you have been awarded FWS, check your awards online at MyÎçÒ¹¿ì²¥ or log on to Financial Aid Online to view your financial aid awards. See below for current openings.

- Hiring Process
- Once you have decided on the student or students you have selected to hire, fill out and submit the Request to Hire Student Employee form for each student.
- Submit the form to the Student Employment Office â€“Â then you will be notified by email to review the request.
- Student Employment will verify and approve the request for eligibility.
- Student Employment will notify you and the student.
- Once the Student Employment Office has collected all necessary employment documents, the student will be issued a contract.
- The student will provide you with a copy of their student-signed contract.
- You must sign and return this contract to the Student Employment Office before you allow students to work.
- Please keep a copy of the contract for your information.Â It will contain the studentâ€™s work start date.Â Students may not start work prior to this date.
- Supervisor Responsibilities
- Ensure that your student is logging in hours to his or her time sheet accurately and daily, and provide electronic approval on time each month.
- Do not allow students to begin working until you have a signed contract with start date. Doing so would be a S.C. Labor Law and U.S. Department of Education violation.
- Establish a schedule of work hours that will be acceptable to both the student and the department.
- Do not schedule or allow your student to work during the hours listed on his class schedule.Â They cannot work during this time even if their class lets out early or is canceled.
- Provide student with orientation and training necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Approve time sheets by the 3rd of each month.
- Students may NOT work during Chapel. Students may NOT work more than 20 hours a week during semesters when they are attending classes.
- Students may not work when campus is closed.
